In this project, HDPE geomembrane was used as the main anti-seepage material for lining the bottom and slopes of the fish pond. This ensured effective seepage control and created a stable aquaculture environment.
1. Excellent Anti-Seepage Performance: The geomembrane has an extremely low permeability coefficient, effectively preventing water leakage and reducing the frequency of water replenishment.
2. Water Quality Improvement: It prevents direct contact between soil and water, reducing harmful substances seeping into the pond, thus maintaining water stability and benefiting aquaculture.
3. Convenient Construction: Geomembrane rolls can be flexibly laid to adapt to ponds of different sizes and shapes.
4. High Durability: Resistant to UV radiation, corrosion, and aging, the geomembrane provides long-term use and lowers maintenance costs.
1. Subgrade Preparation: Clear debris, sharp stones, and ensure smooth surfaces. Compact the base if necessary to prevent damage to the geomembrane.
2. Geomembrane Laying: Lay the geomembrane from top to bottom along the slope, using whole sheets or segmented splicing. Overlap width is typically 10–15 cm.
3. Welding and Fixing: Use hot wedge welding for overlapping seams with dual weld lines, leaving a test channel. Fix the top edge with anchor trenches or press strips to prevent slipping.
4. Inspection and Repair: Conduct air pressure or vacuum testing on seams to ensure welding quality. Repair any detected damage promptly to maintain continuity.
After project completion, seepage loss in the fish pond was significantly reduced, and water level stability was improved. By isolating soil from water, water quality was enhanced, providing a favorable aquaculture environment and reducing operating costs. The project achieved both economic and ecological benefits.
